This policy explains how your personal data is handled when you make a booking.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

When you submit a booking, the garage is the data controller — they decide how your information is used. PitMate (operated by RedBox) acts as a data processor, providing the booking platform on their behalf.

2. What data we collect

Your name, email address and phone number
Your vehicle registration, make, model, year and fuel type
Your booking details (date, time, service requested)
Any notes you include with your booking

3. Why we collect it

Your data is collected and processed for the sole purpose of managing your service booking. This includes confirming, rescheduling or cancelling your appointment, and sending you notifications about its status.

Email notifications (booking confirmation, reminders, etc.) are sent on the basis of contract — they are a necessary part of the booking service.

SMS and WhatsApp notifications are only sent if you give explicit consent on the booking form.

4. Who we share your data with

Twilio (twilio.com) — used to send SMS and WhatsApp notifications. Twilio is based in the United States; data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under GDPR Article 46.
SendGrid / SMTP provider — used to send email notifications.

We do not sell your data or share it with any other third parties.

5. How long we keep your data

Your booking and personal details are retained for up to 3 years from the date of your last booking, after which they are deleted. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see section 6).

6. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the data held about you
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
Erasure — ask us to delete your data
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
Withdraw consent — opt out of SMS/WhatsApp notifications at any time
Complain — lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie
